Osprey FAQ
When is the season?
There is one season with TWO SESSIONS: fall starting about August 30th;
spring starting about March 1st. They last about 9 weeks.
Can I play another sport?
Yes. However, players are expected and agree to attend nearly all
practices and games unless there is an excusable absence. Playing at
this level does require a serious commitment, not only to yourself but
also to your team. Playing another sport may be difficult during the
soccer season without compromising that commitment as most coaches need
an 80%+ attendance to teach.
Where are the games played?
Generally most are played at the Simplot Soccer Complex at Columbia
Village. Again, CYSA may schedule some games at other valley locations.

What is the travel commitment?
U-11 does not travel outside of the State and rarely out of the Treasure
Valley, which includes Nampa. U-12 and above begin to travel more to
attend tournaments. Approximately two of which are out of the Valley or
State.
How often do you practice?
Generally teams practice twice a week beginning 2-3 weeks prior to the
season. One practice is with your team coach and a second practice is
with our pro-coaching staff assisted by the team coaches.
Where do you practice?
I.O.S.C. has leased its own 11-acre Osprey Training Facility located
behind the Capital Christian Center near the intersection of Fairview
and Eagle Roads. Here we will have three full size fields and additional
skill areas for our exclusive use for team training. This facility is
easily reached by way of State, Fairview, Chinden, Franklin or I-84 to
Eagle Road. While all of Lee Riley's Professional Practices will be held
here, some teams may choose to practice at other locations more
convenient to their players' homes such as our past training areas at
Fairmont and Winsted Parks in central Boise.

How many games do you play on Saturdays?
Generally one. However, based on available fields and number of
teams, CYSA may schedule two games on Saturday or one during the week
starting at 5:30 - 6:00 pm.
Are there ever games on Sunday?
Sunday play occurs only during tournaments. However, if your faith does
not allow play on Sunday, no one is ever required to choose between
one's faith and play.
Why are you better than other clubs?
I.O.S.C. can be differentiated from other soccer programs by our
professional level of commitment to player development as exemplified by
our pro-practice schedule. Our focus is not to win games at entry
levels, but in order for our players to develop in the sport and to be
able to continue to participate and be competitive at the more advanced
levels of play and continue to have fun!
